Red lights and indicator lights (alarm)
Warning lights include: the battery, engine oil pressure, engine oil temperature, coolant temperature and a possible problem related to braking. These lights are red and warn the driver to stop his vehicle immediately. The cars are also equipped with buzzers that are activated in the event of breakdowns or anomalies. Some red lights always come on before the engine starts and then go out. If not, repair is required because the vehicle is no longer able to move.
Yellow / Orange lights and indicators (warning)
Warning lights are displayed in orange yellow and alert the driver to a mechanical or electronic problem without prompting him to stop. However, it is advisable not to underestimate the warning and to go to your trusted workshop.
It includes warning of the engine oil level (not to be confused with oil pressure), a malfunction of the airbag or brake system, a traction control problem, de-pollution, power steering or lighting. - Loss of brake system pressure or too low brake fluid level. It is essential to carry out a check.
- Electronic engine failure. The vehicle can circulate but a breakdown could occur and lower performance. Carry out checks to avoid possible damage.
- Insufficient battery charge, it is essential to check the battery and see if the warning light stays on while driving.
- It comes on to indicate the preheating of the glow plugs. Start the engine when the icon stops flashing.
- Failure of the ESP system (electronic stability control, i.e. the system that regulates engine power and brakes)
- Low fuel level. The engine runs in reserve and it is necessary to refuel.
- Worn brake pads, must be replaced as soon as possible.
- Excessive coolant temperature. If this light stays on for too long, the cylinder head gasket may be damaged.
- Hazard warnings activated.
- Activated demisting windshield.
- Malfunction of one of the airbags.
- Insufficient tire pressure. One of the tires may be flat or punctured.
- Rear fog lights on.
- Insufficient oil pressure, the engine could be damaged and a check must be carried out as soon as possible.
- Malfunction of the ABS braking system (brake assist system that prevents skidding even in the most extreme conditions).
- One or more seat belts are not fastened.
