Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ one of the fastest supercars

This record-breaking car is a tune-up version of the Chiron for high-speed driving. In addition to the shape of the front mask, the overall length of the body has been extended by about 100 mm to make it a long tail, and the aerodynamic characteristics have been greatly improved by a diffuser located in the center of the rear. In addition, the weight has been reduced to the limit to make it a monster machine.

In addition, special tires were developed, and the Chiron 8L W-type 16-cylinder quad-turbo engine that produces 1500hp (about 1521ps) was tuned up to 1600hp (about 1622ps).

With this, it recorded 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) and returned to the position of the fastest production car.

In the Chiron Super Sport 300+, the 8.0-litre W16+4 turbo engine was tuned, and 100ps increased its maximum output to 1600ps. Engineers changed the turbocharger, oil pump, and piston with a valve train, transmission and clutch. As a result, the allowable engine speed has been increased by 300 rpm to a maximum of 7100 rpm. The maximum torque of 163kgm is not the conventional 6000 rpm, but the characteristic that continues to be generated in a wide range of 2000 ~ 7000 rpm. At the same time, the vehicle weight has been reduced by 23 kg.

The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission shifts from sixth to seventh gear at 403km/h at full throttle thanks to a larger turbocharger with more efficient compressor wheels. It accelerates from 0~200km/h in 5.8 seconds and 0~300km/h in 12.1 seconds. It accelerates at 0~400km/h, 7% faster than a standard Chiron.

Also, the boost pressure is maintained near the maximum. When changing gears, the boost pressure drops only by 0.3 seconds before returning to full boost pressure of 2.8 bar. Acceleration does not decrease beyond 6000 rpm, and strong acceleration is maintained up to 7100 rpm.

Bugatti has developed a new aerodynamically optimized vehicle design for the Chiron Super Sport 300+. Everything has been redesigned for maximum speed, from the lip spoiler at the front to the diffuser at the rear. At speeds above 420 km/h, the vehicle must gain sufficient downforce with minimal drag. For the Chiron Super Sport 300+, the goal was to have a neutral set-up in the highest speed range and a streamlined form as much as possible.

In the Chiron Super Sport 300+, the rear overhang has been extended by about 250mm. This "long tail" design allows the laminar flow of air to pass over the vehicle body for a longer time. The diffuser has also been newly designed to reduce wind resistance. With these changes, the rear proportions are broader and lower than before.

The arrangement of the tailpipes was also changed. To increase the diffuser's effectiveness and provide more space, the central exhaust system was shifted to the side, and the pipes were placed vertically. The exhaust system also produces a more profound and richer sound.

The design of the front was also changed. Adding a side air curtain next to the air intake has improved the airflow from the front to the wheel arches.

The left and right front fenders were equipped with nine air ducts. This is reminiscent of the old EB110 Super Sport and optimizes airflow near the front wheels and generates more downforce on the front axle. An air duct has also been added behind the front wheel arches.

The new aluminum wheels with a five-spoke design are exclusively designed. An option with a diamond-cut finish is also available.

Bugatti developed a new chassis. The steering system and dampers have been improved to achieve tighter steering for smoother steering. The spring rate was increased, and the electronically controlled chassis was returned. There are four driving modes: EB, Handling, Autobahn, and Top Speed.

The body has been extended at the rear and improved at the front. As a result, the company aims to demonstrate balanced aerodynamic characteristics in the highest speed range. Even when cornering at high speeds, the rear remains calm and neutral.

The newly developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires have optimized performance in the highest speed range. It is said to achieve better rigidity and smoothness than tires for Pure Sports. It was developed as the world's only tire that can run stably at 500 km/h with a reinforced belt that can withstand large forces. All tires will undergo an X-ray inspection after manufacturing.

The shape of the front mask's air inlet, the air outlet behind the fender, the long-tailed rear shape, and the setting to retract the rear wing in top speed mode are carried over from the record-setting car.

In addition, the black body with visible carbon fiber, two jet orange lace stripes, and the specification placed in the center is also the same. In addition, it is equipped with a Bugatti "Macaron" emblem that combines pure silver and enamel black, magnesium wheels, etc., and the interior is composed of black carbon, genuine leather, and black and orange color contrast by Alcantara.

The engine specs seem to be the same 1500hp as the base model, but there is no doubt that the "Super Sport 300+" is the world's fastest luxury hyper sports car due to its overwhelming aerodynamic performance and weight reduction.
